Pan Seared Turmeric & Hot Honey Salmon

Ingredients

2 salmon filets

2 oz high quality hot honey (regular honey will work)

2 tbsp ground turmeric

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp parsley

Garlic salt

Black pepper

Squeeze of lemon

1 tbsp butter

Olive oil

Microgreens (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add butter + olive oil to a cast iron over medium high heat. While the cast iron is heating, lightly oil the salmon filets. This will help your seasoning stick to the fish.

  2. Season the fish with ground turmeric, Italian seasoning, parsley, garlic salt, and pepper. Then, drizzle hot honey and squeeze lemon over each filet.

  3. Once the butter is beginning to brown, add your salmon in skin side down. Sear for no more than 2 minutes each side before removing the cast iron from heat.

  4. Your cast iron should no longer be over heat but still hot, which will help the salmon continue to cook on the inside without drying out. Let the salmon sit on the cast iron for 5 minutes or until cooked to your desired temperature. If you prefer the salmon medium rare (like | do), make sure you are using sushi grade salmon.

  5. Drizzle a bit more honey and top with micro-greens or dried parsley. Serve over your favorite salad and enjoy!
